I agree, do you want the short answer or the long answer? NO or HECK NO! If you listened to the meeting ROBCO school board had regarding schools redistricting they never said “anyone wishing to remain where they are will be permitted to” he specifically noted there will be a “lottery” and that if you were wishing to remain where you are you could participate in that, there are still plenty of folks that are going to be uprooted and more frustration to come. Reading many of the Hip WH comments, I don’t think many picked up on that detail. Those poor families, their heads must be spinning!
The letter that parents received stated they could stay at their current school if they provided their own transportation and stayed in good standing. I did listen to several of the meetings regarding rezoning. Much of it is hard to hear and hard to follow. It sounds like the lottery and moving about is coming with open enrollment. I still could not quite make out where the new school will be. It sounded like they were discussing a "footprint" of a middle school, but the conversation was mixed in with the new road in Greenbrier. And yes, these families are freaking out. They have 2.5 weeks to make a decision.
I hope for families they allow them to remain, but along with students being moved they must be moving teachers and redistributing as well, and if that’s the case then I suspect it will not be a blanket “OK, you can stay” for anyone requesting it. It makes sense that they can’t move one without the other. I know in my DIL’s case (teachers in ROBCO) they won’t know until the end of year. Although I understand it, but at the same time I hate it for them. When we moved here back in 07 I scrutinized every school system and demographic there was in order to make our decision. To be told I would have to move would not have set well for us. I pray God will guide each family and the school board. Some of it seemingly makes no sense at all.

If you saw the issues with schools being rezoned, this is only the beginning.
Oh I did. I already had two of my athletes contact me. What a mess. These developers don't care what they are doing to our community.
