Millersville voted in Alisa Huling this week to their city commission.
Really though, look at the numbers here. Millersville has a population of roughly 7k people. Only 400 voted. Even if half of the people in town are children, where are the voters? We have this problem nationwide. People like to complain. People like to voice concerns. People don’t like to vote. The system might suck, but it’s the only one we have. Obviously the people that were the most concerned showed up on Tuesday, but come on Tennessee, we can do better. We have got to have more than 300 people voting in our elections. That being said, congrats to Ms. Huling. Let’s hope their board can avoid the pitfalls White House has been tossed into.
Hey Nikki, got an email stating my card is expiring this month, that is NOT correct. I’ve gotten a couple of bogus emails, including FB stating someone is attempting to change my password, and they changed my password in Instagram several times. I found a way to stop them thankfully, but wanted to let you know I still have a couple of months before it expires.
Looking back a few elections, ours was not much better. I hope we have a better turn out coming up next year, presidential elections are usually higher, but when it comes to locals, not so much. Fingers crossed we will see change.
