Municipal Planning Commission met on Monday night, June 12th for their regular monthly meeting. Dolly Peay was the only member of the board not in attendance.
The meeting was called to order and all housekeeping items were approved.
Item # 1 Fields at Oakwood-Phase 2.1: Requests a one-year bond extension.
Item # 2 Summerlin-Phase 6: Requests a one-year bond extension.
Both of these items are bond extensions that are subject to the 15% increase raised to meet inflation. The Summerlin subdivision had stopped making progress in 2020. It seems they have a new project manager and are starting to make corrections. There are nine phases to Summerlin. Items one and two were approved.
Item # 3 Stutzwire/Klober Engineering: Requests Site Plan approval for a proposed 12,000 square foot building. Property is referenced as Robertson County Tax Map 106F, Parcel 8.00. Property is zoned I-1, Light Industrial and is located at 111 South Court Drive. Owner: Dennis Stutzman and Dennis Stutzman II This property is located in the industrial area. The owners are looking to move their manufacturing from the Greenbrier/Springfield area to White House. Since this is an industrial area, the sidewalk requirement does not apply. They will still need to submit construction plans, but the site plan meets all of the city’s requirements. The plant is considered light manufacturing. The owner stated that they machine small parts. Most of their machining is done by computer controlled equipment. About 70% of what they produce are for medical uses. They were asked about storage. The owner stated that there could be some items stored behind the building in the covered area, but that it would only be short term for things that did not have room inside the building. Approved.
Planning director Ceagus Clark added that there will be a study session on chickens in August, and that HWY 76 is seeing some more interest in the commercial area. The area in question is from Sonic to 31W. This area has character that the city will try to maintain while beefing up the commercial.
Meeting adjourned.
