It’s too bad at this point that Robertson County is so large geographically. Most of us in White House don’t know anyone in Springfield and vice versa. The people I do know in Greenbrier or Coopertown are just from sporting events with my kids. We know each other enough to say hello and how’s your kid.
I would not have known what John Edwards in Cedar Hill was fighting if he had not shown up in my neighbors’ group after we starting fighting the city here in White House. We didn’t know that the county was looking at solar farms on farm land in Robertson County. It’s honestly hard to keep up with your city and your county when everyone is making decisions about your area, and most of them don’t seem to have the citizens in mind.
We changed that in White House. The county is still having issues. The school board still doesn’t want to hear from us, and neither does that planning board. Oh, wait, unless it’s an agenda item. We are awfully tired of staying quiet, but we aren’t alone.
Check this out from Michigan.
The photo is linked to a story on X. The people are sick and tired of not being represented or listened to. This isn’t just for you Robertson County, this is for you Sumner County as well. There are good people on the boards. There are also good ole boys looking out for themselves on those boards too. We need people to run for office, but we also need people to pay attention. Watch this video, and have hope. The people are on the rise, and while it doesn’t always feel like we are winning, we are.
