Wrestling season is officially over, and the piece I’ve been working on in my head for over a month is boiling over. When I opened my news feed this morning, I knew it was time to write. “Nancy Pelosi Banks $1.4 Million in 90 Days.” This was on a single stock. Go ahead and read the article. A senator in there bought stock in a company that makes automated water meters right before the EPA passed a requirement that all utilities have to upgrade to automated water meter technology. It’s just right out there people. They are doing it every day and they simply don’t care what we think.
It’s not just in DC and it’s not just democrats. The very republican Mark Green made one of the largest increases in his portfolio last year. I’ve shared this graph before.
It’s not just stocks. Of course I can’t prove there was anything nefarious going on in White House with the approval of 5000 units, but there certainly was enough speculation and disgruntled citizens to change the board of mayor and aldermen.
This all leads me to our district 66 representative Sabi Kumar over here in Robertson County. He has been our state representative for 10 years now. What has he done for us? Well, if you live in Springfield, you have a beautiful four lane highway.

Photo one is the Tom Austin Highway. That photo is taken just to the east of William A Batson Parkway. It’s four lane through Springfield and ends about six miles west of town. The four lane highway ends at Old Highway 431. What’s interesting is that it goes right past Kumar’s property. The intersection at his property has a beautiful stoplight and four lanes of very safe highway in front of his home. The county dump, does not. The dump is a pain in the butt to get in and out of, especially if you have to turn left. No traffic light there. The four lanes do go past the dump, but stop 1.2 miles from the county line. I have no idea why they stopped construction where they did. They will finish it. Kumar is making sure of that. Funding went through in 2022. Most of the work will be in Davidson County, but it will be four lane from Springfield to I24.
Now to the second photo. Those two red circles are Kumar’s properties. At least one of them is listed as his address.
These are his disclosures for 2023. Notice the address. This first address is his home address. The second is his business address. Both are circled in red in the Google Map photo. This is where I find things that don’t want to be found.
This is Kumar’s property that is listed as his address in the disclosure. He sold it in 2022 to a developer. It was rezoned in 2021.
See that price tag? Must be nice to have the roads in front of your property fixed up real nice, get your property rezoned, and then sell to a developer. Meanwhile, you can afford to buy a condo in Nashville because you would not want to drive in I65 or I24 traffic every day when you have to be in legislative session.
Highway 76 in White House is dangerous and has been since at least 1987. No plans for 76 to be fixed or updated, but that 431 in Springfield sure is beautiful. You have to sit in ridiculous traffic to get to Nashville, but your rep doesn’t. As a matter of fact, your rep listed his address as the one that he sold in 2022. Is he renting it back from them? Is he living there? This feels like Groundhog’s Day. We just went through this in White House with our previous mayor that sold his property and moved to Florida.
When does this end????? When do we get politicians in office that represent the people and want to serve the people? Answer, never. It costs over $100k to run for an office such as state rep. Without being backed by large companies, it’s damn near impossible.
Changes need to be made. I wish I had the answer. At this point, I will at least be writing in NONE OF THE ABOVE when I have to hold my nose and vote in November.
I’ve lived in Roundhill, KY, built my first house there. Small place- can’t even support a post office. The investor address is at the rural pay lake. Such an unlikely place, I was very surprised by that.
Yes, we are all sick of the politicians versus the ‘representative’ we should have.
You are a great investigative journalist and I enjoy reading these.
I wonder why the speed limit at the least hasn’t been addressed on hwy 76. Tyree is much less populated and is 10 mph slower in most places. I’m thankful John and the others have their eyes on it, I’m not sure it’s enough though. Growing pains can be hard to digest. I drove up 31 up by Revolution church and it was like being on another planet! Why can’t 76 have it that nice? My jaw dropped when I saw it. Oh well. Maybe some day. I think people really need to pay attention and we need to do better with voter turnout. The last low turnout we had we ended up with a 17% tax increase (I’m pretty sure that number is correct) from the county. Sure hope that doesn’t happen again. With all of these new families here certainly there is enough coming in to be able to afford what we need. I thought someone mentioned there being ablacktop (pavement) shortage? Maybe I dreamt it. Lol. Thanks for the info as usual! I wouldn’t ever know what was going on around me if it weren’t for what you write. No one wants to cover the “goings on” anymore.
